Writer. Editor. podcaster. Lover of movies and, of course, StranGe and Unusual Things.

I have created this site as a labor of love in order to dive into more coverage of the weird and horrifying because well, this is me. This can be within the world of cinema, TV, true crime, folklore, shared stories of the bizarre, and much, much, much more. I started my horror-related podcast right before the world changed, so it has been resting, but it shall be resurrected soon! I also just love talking about movies of all kinds, so there’ll be plenty of reviews, video essays, etc.

Grab some fava beans, and a nice Chianti, while I take the plunge.

As a critic and Editor in Chief of Film Inquiry I’ve been able to do what I love, with people I admire. Naturally, I want this to keep going! I am also V.P. of Genomic Operations for Katch Media, and love being able to share great content with other like-minded individuals! I am also a member of the Online Association of Female Film Critics. ❤️

I’m a small-town girl with a huge imagination. My favorite part of life is the discovery; finding new pieces of media that inspire me, ideas that challenge me, and learning about people and places I didn’t know of before. Also, I just love film, with every fiber of my being. When I am not creating, I love uncovering mysteries and finding the next gem, the next oddity, the next thing that I find wonderfully weird.

Jackson Schreiber

Jackson Schreiber was born in Detroit, MI. He attended Syracuse University to study screenwriting before continuing his studies at DePaul University, where he graduated with a B.F.A in Creative Producing. Currently living in Chicago, Jackson likes to spend time with friends and family when he’s not watching movies, and is a big fan of geography and learning about the world. He is currently a Genomic Operations Manager at Katch.

Tarryn Gaherty

Tarryn Gaherty is a senior at Smith College double majoring in Film and Media Studies and the Study of Women and Gender. They are interested in topics such as horror, queer cinema, fan studies, feminist film theory, and pop culture. Tarryn is currently working on a yearlong senior thesis titled “A Boy’s Best Friend is His Mother”: The Role of Sacrificial Motherhood In Horror Films.”
